Santa Run
Brand strategy, logo design, visual identity, print design, project management
Pitched as a profile-raising opportunity for the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund, Santa Run was established to raise funds for Burn Camp, and increase awareness of Bright Nights, the Burn Fund’s signature winter event. Participants race, run, or walk the 5K route around Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC wearing a Santa suit to kick-off the holiday season.
Logo Concept
It’s important that the logo represent both Santa and fire fighters. Inspired by a classic firefighter crest, we injected some Christmas cheer with big Santa Run words in the centre, criss-crossed candy canes, and Santa boot prints.
Brand Vision
Firefighters are synonymous with heros. We wanted Santa Run to be like your favourite superhero but also approachable, trustworthy and, most importantly, FUN. We took classic fire fighter emblems, typography, and colours, and gave them a Christmas flare that said Santa and fire fighter all in one.
“Michelle and her team helped to turn a dream of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund into a reality. Form Meets Function breathed life into our concept of a new 5K Santa Run, taking the time to fully understand our desired brand and goals. Form Meets Function truly became an extension of our team, providing valued feedback and ideas about how to make our event a success through stellar branding, graphic design, and strategy. We are thrilled with their vision for the Santa Run and would highly recommend Form Meets Function.”
