Dominion Bar + Kitchen
Visual identity, logo design, naming, print design
Known for its locally sourced ingredients, culturally-inclusive Canadian dishes, and unique urban vibe, Dominion Bar + Kitchen was looking to expand it’s menu to offer brunch. We worked with Century Group to create Brunch & Bevvies, a campaign to brand brunch at Surrey’s newest destination for mid-morning fare.
Brand Vision
Staying loyal to local was important to Dominion. Dishes like 13495 French Toast Tower and Breakfast fit for King George pay homage to Surrey, the city Dominion calls home. We wanted the brand to maintain Dominion’s urban vibe, so we gave some traditional breakfast icons a metropolitan flare.
Logo Concept
It was important to maintain Dominion Bar + Kitchen’s brand while introducing new, brunch-specific elements. We worked with the existing indigo colour and added a golden yellow inspired by Dominion’s own front doors. Typography from the main Dominion Bar + Kitchen logo was preserved and the words Brunch & Bevvies were added in Brandon Printed along with a chicken and crossed fork & spoon graphic to create an emblem that was uniquely brunch.
“Michelle always exceeds our design expectations. Our recent collaboration was to bring our brunch program at Dominion Bar + Kitchen to life. Working on a tight deadline, Michelle handled all of our design needs from logo development, and menu design, to promotional and marketing materials. Michelle's attention to detail, her collaborative approach, and her understanding of our business needs always make working with her a pleasure. We are thrilled about Michelle's work on our brunch program and would highly recommend Form Meets Function.”
